Vazhipad (offering)
  Coir

Trikkur Mahadeva Temple is widely known for the coir offering. Placing a measure of coir on the sopanam or performing thulaabhaaram using coir (offering Lord a measure of coir that weighs as same as the person) is believed to cure the asthmatic ailments. Ayurveda terms this Daiva Vyapasrsaya system of treatment (offering something to god to cure the diseases). People flow in even from distant lands to offer coir to Lord Mahadeva.
